Introducing the infinite Bookshelf Generator! With this, one can make textures, models, drawings, and more with this script with plenty of built in features!

Earlier in the year (2022) I was in the middle of populating bookshelves for an animation and the idea came across with a simple question of: "Can I do this?", so this became a little bit of a personal challenge to create something super fun and super useful for various design, illustration, and art tasks!

There are features for the following:
Number of Books
Book Disorder
Missing Books
Colors
Types of Books (Modern, Textbook, Steampunk, Cyberpunk, and Fantasy)
Style Choices (Cells, Outlines, Vapor Gradient, Paint)
Shelf Masking for Underlays

The way the script is built is to easily allow placement in bookshelves that may already be modeled or drawn, using spacing parameters to do the math for you. It also allows layering of materials/textures below the bookshelf texture to create an all in one bookshelf texture that can be used on surfaces! Bonus points for using Parallax or Displacement! If the task allows for it. ;)

The script itself is also able to generate a few different shader-enque styles of art for any purpose!

This was an absolute blast to make and special thanks to my wife for helping me figure out the mathematics behind this!

The texture is 100% created inside Substance Designer, rendered in Marmoset Toolbag for most everything, except for the few instances of Substance Painter and TwinMotion.

Thanks for looking!
