Texture Art created for Board Gamelandia on the Meta Horizon Worlds platform!

I had an amazing opportunity to work with an excellent team for creating a translation of board games into a virtual reality environment!

The fundamental challenge was creating a rich enough array of textures on a limited budget, while keeping things fresh. Trim Sheets and Atlas Sheets became critical in this endeavor, and was crucial for solidifying player experience in VR. By using bespoke textures, smart materials, trim sheets, and color vertices in conjunction with specific shader techniques, we were able to create a sprawling world full of variety and make as many variations as we need while keeping performance elevated to work on cellular devices.

Board Gamelandia is Developed by Nerd Ninjas in partnership with The Op for the Horizon Worlds Platform by Meta. ‘Tapple’ and ‘Hues and Cues’ are created and owned by The Op.

As a team member, I was responsible for the texture assets shown here. Art Direction by Cara Jones.
